During the “Philips Lifestyle” event, the public was presented with a never before seen technology.

In the corridors of Morumbi Shopping Center, the visitor would find models of a loft, installed in specially tailored cabinets. With the touch of a button, the public could select one of four scenes inspired by American sitcoms, involving the couple Camila and Diego interacting with the brand’s products.

Through the new technology, it’s possible to see projected images of Camila and Diego interacting with physical objects and among themselves. The impression is akin to a holographic display. You can see through the actors, but the sensation is that the actors are physically present in the environments.

This optical illusion is achieved through a combination of reflexion and transparency, in a way that the public sees a perfect interaction between the actors, who were recorded and projected in the same scale as the model, and the objects in the physical environment.

Its an impressive experience. The virtual actor sits in perfect alignment with the physical bench in the model. Virtual clothes are thrown on a model bed and remain there. This interaction between real and virtual makes the installation seem magical, surprises the audience and entices the curiosity.
