The Cordel Universe exhibit presented to the public of Pernambuco a world that enveloped not only the literary verses and their connection to music and the back and forth sung challenges called “repentes”, but also the artistic creation of the wood-cut illustrations, often made by the poets themselves, as is the case with J. Borges and José Costa Leite.

To map this universe, the exhibit traced a trajectory of cordel literature, from its origins to its main genres and authors, showing the forms of poetic creativity defined by rhyming verses, the creation of the “taco” or the original wood carving, and the final printing and finishing processes of the leaflets.

From this information, we created a panoramic multivideo to show the development of cordel literature in a whimsical and visually striking way.
