With masterpieces from the Musée d’Orsay and the Musée de l’Orangerie, the exhibition features 75 paintings by 32 artists who, from the end of the 19th century, sought new paths to painting. The group formed by icons of the impressionist movement, like Van Gogh, Gauguin, Toulouse-Lautrec, Cézanne, Seurat, Matisse, received from the English critic Roger Fry the designation of post-impressionist, for promoting a new aesthetic language, based on the intense use of color. Curated by Pablo Jimenez Burillo, Guy Cogeval and Isabelle Cahn.

Three audiovisual pieces were produced for the exhibition:
In Module 1, a mapped projection of the “color chords”, on a 6.00m x 3.00m panel with Musée d’Orsay’s image in black and white, introduces the visitor to the universe of color through the chromatic circle of Chevreul.
In Module 2, an introductory panel with 03 short-range projectors, presents the exhibition and the Musée d’Orsay and the Musée de l’Orangerie through texts, works and details of the Nouvel Orsay.
Module 3 is an audiovisual installation with details of works and fragments of texts selected by curators. The works are cut in detail, emphasizing the expression of color.
